Tri-land Properties, Inc. began construction on the redevelopment of Cherokee South Plaza, a 118,000-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center in Overland Park, Kan. The $23 million redevelopment will include the demolition of one building, the addition of 27,000 sq. ft. of new space, replacement of old facades and a new parking lot. The project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2009. Developers Diversified, through its joint venture partnership Sonae Sierra Brazil, will develop an 840,000-sq.-ft. shopping center in Goiania, Brazil. Completion is scheduled for 2011.
